CSA WINS SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE MERIT AWARD

Twin Lakes Park Green Office Building

sustainable architectureSarasota, FL - Carlson Studio Architecture's new Twin Lakes Park has been awarded the 2003 Sustainable Florida/AIA Award of Merit. By creating a sustainable environment combining vision and pragmatism, Carlson Studio Architecture designed the Twin Lakes Park Office Complex to function as a shining example of leadership in sustainable design. It is the area's first "green architecture" commercial building. The project is LEED registered, with the expectation of LEED Gold Certification upon completion. LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a voluntary, standardized rating system developed and endorsed by the U.S. Green Building Council.

CSA TAKES 2002 FAIA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE

G.WIZ Blivas Science & Technology Center

Sarasota, FL - The 2002 Award of Excellence, presented by the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects, was awarded to Carlson Studio Architecture for their "use of modern elements and courageous design "in transforming the former Selby library bayfront site into the interactive G.WIZ Science & Technology Center. By creating long triangulated spaces throughout the facility, adding a new glass prism ceiling as a dramatic focal point and completely demolishing and redesigning the existing interiors, the design team creatively converted the building into a visually inviting and stimulating center for learning and exploration.
